It’s summertime! Time for the sun, the beach, and the jingle of the Ice Cream truck in your neighborhood.
For the kids, of course. You? You’re older now, and have more refined tastes. No mere Rocket Pop for you, uh-uh!
What you want is Haagen Dazs Five.
A couple of months ago, I was included in a video conferencing call about Haagen Dazs Five with several other bloggers. The discussion focused on how the ice cream is only made with five ingredients.
And the FLAVORS!! Simple never sounded so good! They are Vanilla Bean, Coffee, Mint, Brown Sugar, Milk Chocolate, and Passion Fruit. After the call concluded, I was psyched to go find this delicious creation in my local grocery store. And, I was kind of really hungry.
It was nowhere to be found. Seriously. I think I annoyed the heck out of several store managers with “Can you pleeeeease go check in the back?” “Are you sure you don’t have any?” Luckily I know them personally, so I know I can at least shop there still.
But then, one glorious day, I walked into the store, went to the frozen section, and found this:
This, folks, is manna from Heaven. I have searched for Ginger ice cream that is not chunky, that is smooth, and melts in your mouth.
My search is over. This ice cream completes me. It could quite possibly complete you too.
My husband is also a bit of a Mint ice cream snob. No, seriously, he is. The ice cream can not be green, it must be white. If it has chocolate chips in it, they must not be over powering, so they do not ruin the minty goodness.
I’m sure I do not have to tell you many ice creams have let my husband down. It’s tragic to see a grown man cry over ice cream.
So guess what? You totally know where this is going:
Let’s just say I heard lots of mmmmm-hmmmmm’s and the spoon scraping the sides and bottom of the pint. I’d say it’s a winner.
He’d say so too if he wasn’t busy eating.

Dude, I have been wanting to try brown sugar for quite some time. They have it in our grocery stores, but alas no brown sugar, lots of ginger (and ginger doesn’t sound appealing to me at all) I am hoping my quest out this evening nets me some brown sugar, but if not and I win the free one I will give ginger a try.
